LEED Certification for Data Centers in 2012

LEED 2012 is focusing attention on data centers and hospitals this year. Traditionally, data centers have had a tougher time in achieving LEED certification due to their demands for uptime and energy as well. To make themselves more market focused, LEED 2012 is looking at several criteria to help data centers achieve LEED certification.  The data center buildings will now get a separate set of benchmarks by which they will be measure to gauge energy savings. At the core of this work is the fact that recognizing the energy usage reduction is difficult.

Project Spotlight: Chattahoochee Bend State Park Achieves LEED Silver Certification

Chattahoochee Bend State Park, located on nearly 3,000 acres in Coweta County, is the newest park for the State of Georgia.  Architecture firm Gerding Collaborative was selected as the design consultant for the park, including a 3,230-square-foot newly constructed visitor center which serves as a park office, guest information center, and retail sale location, with check‐in space for platform and RV camping.

Georgia State University Achieves First Green Globes Certification for Georgia Higher Education

The Georgia State University (GSU) Student Recreation Center is celebrating their achievement of Three Green Globes under the Continual Improvement of Existing Buildings (CIEB) certification process. This is the first existing (CIEB) Student Recreation Center in the country to achieve Green Globes certification.
